NEW DELHI, Sept 27 (NNN-PTI) – Ten people, including eight women and two children, died, and nearly 37 others were injured, when a vehicle they were in, fell into a pond, in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh yesterday, a local police officer said.
The mishap occurred in the state capital, Lucknow, when the driver lost control over the vehicle, the police officer said, over the phone.
Some 47 people were onboard the vehicle when the accident took place. The injured were admitted to a hospital.
The victims were going to a temple, to offer prayers for a newborn, when they met with the unfortunate accident, said the police officer.– NNN-PTI
