KUALA LUMPUR, September 26 (Bernama) — Chubb Insurance Malaysia Berhad today announced a commitment to reforestation efforts in Borneo through a collaboration with Animal Projects & Environmental Education Sdn. Bhd. (APE Malaysia). This initiative is in line with Chubb’s long history of supporting environmental and ecological restoration projects that protect biodiversity and capture or prevent the release of carbon.
Launched under Chubb’s “More Trees for A Better Tomorrow” Project and APE Malaysia’s “Restore Our Amazing Rainforest (ROAR)” Programme, the reforestation initiative will see a contribution of 10 new trees planted for every Chubb customer that has an Environmental Impairment Liability Insurance policy. Policyholders will receive a photo and an electronic certificate showing the GPS coordinates where their trees are located. The project is in the Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, Sabah.
