ISLAMABAD, Sept 21 (NNN-APP) – A Pakistani soldier was killed in Pakistan’s north-western tribal district of North Waziristan, as terrorists opened fire from the Afghan side of the border, the army said in a statement yesterday.
The attack happened on Monday, when the militants shot across the border, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, in the statement.
The Pakistani “troops responded in a befitting manner,” causing heavy casualties to the militants, the statement added.
“Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists, for activities against Pakistan,” said the statement.
The ISPR said that the Pakistan Army is determined to defend the country’s borders, against the menace of terrorism.– NNN-APP
