UN: Cuba to strengthen relations with India, Marshall Islands, China, Hungary

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 20 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar expressed their willingness to strengthen and develop economic, trade and investment ties between both nations.

At a UN meeting in New York, both sides highlighted the historic friendship relations between the two countries.

Rodriguez traveled to New York Saturday in the context of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

Bruno Rodríguez expressed Cuba´s willingness to promote cooperation with the Marshall Islands in areas of mutual interest during his meeting with Kitland Kabua.

At the meeting, both sides tackled down the common challenges facing climate change and the right to development of small states.

Since his arrival in New York past Saturday to attend the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Bruno Rodríguez has been conducting a comprehensive working agenda that included talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, where the Cuban foreign minister reaffirmed his country’s stance in favor of the One China Principle and the condemnation of the interference in its internal affairs.

Bruno also expressed his gratitude for the solidarity and support proved by the Chinese people and governments during the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic and following the Matanzas deadly fire on Aug 5.

Meanwhile, Cuba and Hungary on Monday reached agreements upon diplomatic and educational training, the Cuban Foreign Minister said.

According to the Cuban diplomat, at a meeting held with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó, both sides also reaffirmed the two countries´ willingness to strengthen bilateral political talks and boost economic and trade, investment and cooperation ties. — NNN-Prensa Latina
