KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (NNN-Bernama) — ‘Aha’, an Indian subscription video on-demand and over-the-top (OTT) streaming service offering both Telugu and Tamil language content, is now available in Malaysia.
The streaming platform, which was introduced to the Indian market in 2020, will be the first Indian OTT entity committed to investing in local content besides uplifting the Tamil content industry in Malaysia by leveraging local talents and production houses.
Chief Executive Officer of Aha, Ajit Thakur, in his speech during the grand launch of ‘Aha’ Tamil OTT App for Malaysia on Monday, emphasised the streaming platform’s commitment to spearhead a robust localisation effort to cement a strong local branding for ‘Aha’ in Malaysia.
“At Aha, we are proud of our unique proposition of providing 100 per cent local entertainment to the audience, with Aha Tamil offering 100 per cent Tamil web series and movies.
“With the launch of Aha in Malaysia, we will not only offer the best of Tamil movies and originals to the audience but also source and create content with local film-makers and artists,” he said at the launch officiated by Human Resources minister M. Saravanan, here.
Also present were brand ambassador of Aha, Indian rockstar Anirudh Ravichander, Aha top representatives from India and major producers, distributors and talent from the local Malaysian Tamil entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, Saravanan, in his speech, said he is impressed with Aha’s unique efforts in content collaboration and investment in original content with local talents and production houses which will undoubtedly give global exposure to the Tamil content industry in Malaysia.
Aha, which started out with a 100 per cent Telugu OTT offering since its debut in India in 2020, has seen great success with its extensive content that includes original programming of web series and movies, with a new release every Friday.
The Malaysian public can now enjoy a free month-long streaming through Aha Tamil by using the code ‘AHAANIMY’.
