NEW DELHI, Sept 17 (NNN-PTI) – A foreign woman tested positive for monkeypox, in Delhi yesterday, taking the city’s total tally to eight, and India’s tally to 13.
According to a source in Delhi’s health department, the 30-year-old has been admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
The eight monkeypox cases detected in Delhi include three men and five women, most of them foreigners.
The first monkeypox case was reported in the country from the southern state of Kerala, on July 14, while the first case detected in Delhi was on July 24. Only one death due to monkeypox has been reported in the country so far.– NNN-PTI
