NEW DELHI, Sept 13 (NNN-PTI) – The rate of retail inflation in India rose to seven percent during Aug, compared with 6.71 percent in July, according to government data released here yesterday.
The main reason for the rise in inflation was the rising prices of basic food items, including wheat, rice and pulses.
The rate of retail inflation stood at 5.30 percent in Aug, 2021.
According to local media, retail inflation was above the central bank’s comfort level of six percent, for the eighth month in a row.– NNN-PTI
