BISHKEK, Sept 13 (NNN-KNA) – Five people were killed in a traffic accident in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday, after three cars crashed into each other, as a horse ran onto the road, highway authorities said, yesterday.
The accident occurred on the Balykchy-Ananyevo-Karakol highway, in the north-eastern Kyrgyz region of Issyk-Kul, said the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At about 10.00 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) on Sunday, a driver of a Volkswagen Passat knocked down the horse on the road, and then lost control of his car, driving into the oncoming lane and colliding with a Subaru and a Honda.
Three men, a 14-year-old girl and a one-year-old child died in the accident.
Four other people were injured, including a five-year-old girl.– NNN-KNA
