TASHKENT, Sept 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – Vladimir Norov has been approved as the Foreign Affairs Minister of Uzbekistan, in accordance with the presidential decree, the Uzbek president’s press service said yesterday.
Earlier in the day, the country’s parliament approved Norov, who has been acting foreign minister since Apr this year, for the minister’s post.
Norov, 67, previously served as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany, Switzerland, Poland, the Benelux countries, and was head of Uzbekistan’s mission to the EU and NATO.
In 2006-2010, he headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also worked as the secretary general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.– NNN-XINHUA
