Lebanon’s Hezbollah condemns US blocking aid to Iran’s flood victims

BEIRUT, Lebanon, April 8 (NNN-IRNA) — Lebanon’s Hezbollah in a message late on Sunday denounced US blocking of relief aid to flood-stricken people in Iran.

“While the Iranians deal with the incident in a humanitarian and ethical manner, the US brutally blocks humanitarian aid to the affected people due to sanctions against Tehran,” the message said.

The US is also planning to place the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on the list of sanctions while it is playing a crucial role in the face of flood and providing aid to the affected people, it added.

Hezbollah also expressed condolences over death of a number of Iranian nationals in the recent floods and wished swift recovery for the wounded.

Unprecedented heavy rains have caused floods in various parts of Iran over the past two weeks. Scores of people have been killed and 478 others injured while a large number of people have been displaced across Iran.
