DAMASCUS, Sept 1 (NNN-SANA) – Israel last night, launched missile attacks on targets in Syria, leaving the international airport in the northern city of Aleppo and military sites near the capital Damascus, with material damages, the Syrian military said in a statement.
Local news said, the Israeli missiles which hit Aleppo’s airport, came from over the Mediterranean. About an hour later, missiles that were fired from over Lake Tiberias in northern Israel, hit military sites near Damascus, the military said.
The Syrian air defences intercepted some of the missiles fired from Israel, the Syrian military noted.
The UK-based war monitor, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, the first strike hit Iranian weapon depots near the airport in Aleppo, and the military targets hit by the second strike were in Al-Kiswah city, 13 km south of Damascus.
The war monitor said, the Israeli regime fired four missiles against the airport and surrounding warehouses causing explosions to what is believed to be a shipment of missiles.– NNN-SANA
