YANGON, Aug 31 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar earned over 242.46 million U.S. dollars from export of marine products, in less than five months of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, starting in Apr, the Commerce Ministry said, yesterday.
From Apr 1 to Aug 19 this year, the country exported all of its marine products from the private sector alone, the ministry’s data showed.
The figure was less than over 244.59 million dollars registered a year ago.
During the period, the country’s total export was valued at over 6.5 billion dollars, up over 1.3 billion dollars year-on-year.
The country’s total trade value amounted to over 13.04 billion dollars during the period, up over 2.6 billion dollars year-on-year.
About 80 percent of the country’s trade with foreign countries is done through sea route, while its border trade is conducted with China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India, official figures showed.
Myanmar mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, marine products, minerals, forest products, manufacturing goods and others to foreign countries, while it imports capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods.– NNN-MNA
