ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (NNN-APP) – At least nine Pakistani soldiers were killed and four others injured yesterday, in a road accident in the Bagh district of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, the rescue service said.
According to the report, the incident took place near the Shuja Abad area of the district, when their vehicle fell into a deep ditch, resulting in casualties.
Rescue workers arrived at the site after the accident, and carried out a rescue operation, officials said.
Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads, as well as, negligence of road safety measures.
There has been a significant increase in road accidents in recent days, in northern Pakistan, due to heavy monsoon rains.– NNN-APP
