Malaysia Reportsed 3,516 New COVID-19 Infections, 15 New Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported 3,516 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 4,744,929, according to the health ministry.

There were three new imported cases, with 3,513 cases being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another 15 deaths were reported, pushing the death toll to 36,117.

The ministry reported 2,541 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,667,111.

There are 41,701 active cases, with 92 being held in intensive care and 49 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 5,782 vaccine doses administered yesterday and 86 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 84.1 percent are fully vaccinated, while 49.6 percent have received the first booster and 1.3 percent have received the second booster.– NNN-BERNAMA
