5 killed in car-ambulance collision in western Russia

MOSCOW, Aug 15 (NNN-Xinhua) — Five people were killed and two more injured when a passenger car, driven by a 16-year-old boy, collided with an ambulance in western Russia, the TASS news agency reported.

The accident took place at a crossroads in Nizhny Tagil, a city in Russia’s Sverdlovsk region, as the car, stolen and driven by the boy trying to run away from police, jumped a red light and hit a crossing ambulance, resulting in the death of the boy, three passengers in the car, and a paramedic on the ambulance, the report said.

The two injured people have been hospitalized, it added, citing the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sverdlovsk region as saying. — NNN-XINHUA
