SINGAPORE, Aug 9 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 3,541 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally to 1,763,116.
Of the new cases, 348 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 3,193 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.
Among the PCR cases, 338 were local transmissions and 10 were imported cases.
Among the ART cases, with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 3,086 local transmissions and 107 imported cases, respectively.
A total of 680 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 24 cases in intensive care units.
Two deaths were reported from COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 1,541, the ministry said.– NNN-CNA
