MANILA, Aug 4 (NNN-PNA) – At least 500 families lost their homes after a fire broke out in a residential area, behind the Central Market in Sta. Cruz, Manila, GMA News’ Raffy Tima reported.
The fire reached the fifth alarm at 1:35 p.m., the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) reported.
Residents saved as much of their belongings as they could and evacuated as the fire quickly spread.
“We just saw that there was suddenly a fire. It spread, got larger until nothing was left. We left a few things behind, but that’s okay. It doesn’t matter. What matters is we are safe, my children, and my grandchildren,” one of the victims said.– NNN-PNA
