NEW DELHI, India, April 6 (NNN-PTI) – At least eight people were killed and two others injured on Friday, after a speeding goods truck crashed into a roadside hut in eastern India.
The accident took place at Koria Naya locality in Begusara district, about 126 km east of Patna, the capital city of Bihar.
“Today a speeding truck laden with rice crashed into a roadside hut killing eight people on the spot and injuring two others,” a police official said. “The people inside the hut were playing cards when the truck crushed into them.”
The injured were removed to a nearest hospital.
Police officials said, preliminary investigations revealed the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Deadly road accidents are common in India, often caused due to overloading, bad condition of roads and reckless driving.– NNN-PTI
