NEW DELHI, Jul 27 (NNN-PTI) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF), yesterday, cut down India’s economic outlook for the financial year 2022-23 to 7.4 percent, from its earlier projection of 8.2 percent.
In its latest World Economic Outlook report, the IMF also projected India’s economy to grow by 6.1 percent during the financial year 2023-24.
A report by the “Livemint” publication said, “Despite the lowered forecast, India will remain one of the fastest growing key economies globally in 2022-23, as well as, 2023-24.”
Reacting to the IMF’s latest projection of India’s economic outlook, the country’s former permanent representative to the United Nations, Syed Akbaruddin, tweeted, “Amidst global uncertainty and gloom, IMF estimates India’s growth to be better than most, in the latest world economic outlook.”– NNN-PTI
