ULAN BATOR, Jul 19 (NNN-XINHUA) – Retail prices of gasoline brand AI-95 and diesel fuel have risen to a record high in Mongolia, local media reported yesterday, citing the country’s Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority.
The average price of AI-95 per litre rose to 4,210 Mongolian tugriks (about 1.3 U.S. dollars) from 2,770 tugriks (about 0.87 dollars) in Feb.
Meanwhile, a litre of diesel fuel is priced at 1.28 dollars currently, compared to 0.90 dollars in Feb.
The surge in retail prices of AI-95 and diesel fuel is mainly related to price hikes caused by continued border restrictions, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine crisis.
Since the beginning of this year, Mongolia has imported 946,000 tonnes of oil products, including 472,900 tonnes of diesel fuel, according to the country’s Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry.– NNN-XINHUA
