COLOMBO, Jul 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe’s personal residence, was set on fire yesterday, amid nationwide protests, said the police.
Eye witnesses said that, fire brigades were unable to reach the house as their trucks were blocked by protesters.
Wickremesinghe has agreed to resign, after party leaders in parliament demanded both he and the president to resign, as protesters stormed the president’s residence and office yesterday.– NNN-XINHUA
