PABNA (Bangladesh), April 5 (NNN-BSS) — Nearly 600 extremists of 15 districts will surrender to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on the ground of Shaheed Amin Stadium in Pabna on April 9.
Superintendent of Police, Pabna Sheikh Rafiqul Islam told BSS that
different extremist organisations, including Purba Bangla Communist Party,
Purba Bangla Sarbahara Party and Purba Bangla Lal Pataka Party, are involved in anti-social activities including extortion, murder and kidnapping.
He said the government has taken initiatives for rehabilitation of the
extremists so that they can return to their normal life.
The extremists from Pabna, Natore, Sirajganj, Bogra, Rangpur, Joypurhat,
Noagaon, Tangail, Kushtia, Rajbari, Khulna, Satkhira, Faridpur, Bagerhat, and Jessore will handover firearms to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
A total of 500 members of law enforcement agencies will be deployed in
Pabna district as part of the security measures. — NNN-BSS
