MOSCOW, June 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) — More than four months after being arrested at Moscow airport on charges of drug possession, US basketball star Brittney Griner, attended her first preliminary hearing on Monday.

The 31-year-old is currently in remand, which has been extended until July 2 and could face up to 10 years in prison.

She was arrested at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport on Feb 17. Against the background of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, US-Russia relations have since turned particularly frosty.
