KUWAIT, April 4 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait opened, on Wednesday, the third phase of the Bait Al-Othman Museum, a historic museum located in the Hawalli Governorate.
At the opening ceremony, Mohammad Al-Jabri, Kuwait’s minister of information and minister of state for youth affairs, said, the museum is a great addition to the cultural and educational field in the country.
He hailed the cooperative work between the ministry of education and Kuwait volunteer work centre, adding that, this cooperation is a new start of the museum to continue its educational and cultural mission.
“This work was the result of fruitful efforts led by the head of the volunteer work centre, Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and head of the team of heritage Sabah village, Anwar Al-Rifai, who revived the museum to tell the history of Kuwait, represented by exhibits and historical materials, that give an expressive image of Kuwait’s culture,” he noted.
Bait Al-Othman Museum is dedicated to the history and culture of Kuwait, from the pre-oil era to the present. The museum hosts numerous historical items and antiques of pre-oil Kuwait.
The museum has several phases. Phase 2 opened in Dec, 2015.– NNN-KUNA
