YANGON, Jun 18 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar’s Ministry of Education announced yesterday that, 132,077 students passed their high school graduation exam for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The country’s matriculation exam pass rate this year was 46.88 percent, up by 14.82 percentage points, from the 2019-2020 academic year, official data showed.
There were 281,751 students sitting for the matriculation exam this year, which was held at local and foreign exam centres in late Mar and early Apr.
In the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw, 7,600 students passed this year’s exam, with a passing rate of 47.18 percent.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country was unable to hold the university entrance exam last year.
In Myanmar, students are set to take the matriculation examination before joining universities. A high score in the exam is needed to join the country’s famous higher education institutions.– NNN-MNA
