Rare White Tiger Born At Bangladesh National Zoo

DHAKA, Jun 14 (NNN-BSS) – Two Bengal tiger cubs were seen yesterday, playing with each other in the tiger enclosure at the Bangladesh National Zoo, also known as the Dhaka Zoo.

The zoo has recently welcomed the cubs including one white cub.

The cubs are now about two-and-a-half months old, and still reliant on their mother’s milk.

Tigress Belly gave birth to a normal cub and one white cub on Apr 5.

The zoo authorities are still feeding supplementary milk to the new-borns, and kept them and their mother under CCTV watch, to monitor their health conditions.

A zookeeper who didn’t want to be named, told media yesterday that, each cub is served meat to taste everyday.

Apart from the regular diet, he said, the cubs are also being administered multi-vitamin and calcium.

The cubs have not been named yet and their gender is also yet to be identified.

Strict biosecurity measures have been adopted, in and around their enclosure, to ensure that the cubs remain disease free.– NNN-BSS
