Mongolia Launches Smartphone App On Rare Species Of Wild Fauna, Flora

ULAN BATOR, May 25 (NNN-XINHUA) – Mongolia yesterday launched a smartphone app, to provide information about its rare and endangered species of wild fauna and flora, according to the country’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

The smartphone app “Baigali,” which means nature in Mongolian, contains information about 3,000 rare and endangered species of wild fauna and flora in Mongolia, the ministry said, in a statement.

Smartphone users can download the app for free, and add information and photos about rare and endangered animals and plants to the app, according to the ministry.

“Foreign and domestic tourists often use the Internet to get information, not only about the services offered, but also about nature, before deciding on their travel destination. Therefore, we aim to make the app, which represents the biodiversity of Mongolia, an important marketing tool in the tourism industry, and to introduce it to everyone,” Bat-Ulzii Bat-Erdene, minister of environment and tourism, said, at the launching ceremony of the app.– NNN-XINHUA
