YANGON, May 24 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar reported 36 deaths from dengue fever and 5,446 cases of dengue fever across the country last year, Union Minister for Health, Thet Khaing Win, said yesterday.
The country also confirmed 1,516 cases of dengue fever and two deaths from the disease between Jan 1 and May 20 this year, according to the Ministry of Health.
Most of the dengue fever cases were detected in Yangon Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State, it added.
Dengue fever is a viral disease transmitted through the bite of an Aedes mosquito, which is more active during the day.– NNN-MNA
