6.0-Magnitude Quake Hits Off Japan’s Eastern Coast

TOKYO, May 23 (NNN-NHK) – An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0, jolted 235 km south-east of Katsuura, east coast of Japan’s main island of Honshu, at 1517 GMT yesterday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicentre, with a depth of 16.84 km, was initially determined to be at 33.2415 degrees north latitude, and 141.4509 degrees east longitude.– NNN-NHK
