California shooting

LOS ANGELES, May 21 (NNN-AGENCIES) — One person was killed and eight others were injured at a party Friday night in Southern California’s San Bernardino County, local media reported on Saturday, citing police.

Officers were called just before midnight to a shooting at a business in the 3600 block of East Highland Avenue near Palms Avenue, where a large crowd had gathered for a party, Sgt. Equino Thomas of the San Bernardino Police Department said.

One victim was found outside the party and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said eight other people were shot and taken to area hospitals, most with their own transportation. Police said their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Thomas said no arrests have been made nor has the suspect been identified.

The motive for this shooting is still under investigation, and a description of the suspected shooter was not available, he said, adding that police believe the shooting, which stemmed from a conflict in a crowded room, did not target specific victims.

It is the third shooting incident in the US within a week. This incident took place at around 10:40 pm local time near a train station at the intersection between Chicago Avenue and State Street on the north side of the city. The suspect was arrested on Friday.

On May 14, ten people were killed at a grocery store in New York’s Buffalo city after a gunman opened fire. after committing the crime, the assailant surrendered.
