KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) — The UMW Group maintained its automotive sales momentum in April 2022 as both UMW Toyota Motor (“UMWT”) and UMW’s associate company, Perodua, registered healthy sales. The Group delivered 32,600 units in April 2022, lower than the 35,246 units sold in March 2022, mainly due to the disruption in production caused by supply chain issues that are affecting the automotive industry.
UMWT registered sales of 6,946 units in April 2022. Year-to-date April 2022, UMWT sold 29,393 units, 11.2% higher than the 26,431 units sold in the corresponding period of 2021. Toyota Vios, Yaris, Corolla Cross and Hilux were among its best selling models in the month of April. The ongoing sales campaigns for Hari Raya such as “Bersama Lebih Bermakna” are expected to drive sales. In addition, UMWT will be celebrating Hari Raya with its “Toyota Raya Open House Weekender” on 21 and 22 May 2022 at all its showrooms, nationwide.
