Morocco navy finds 15 migrants dead in stranded boat | Arab News

RABAT, April 27 (NNN-Xinhua) — The Moroccan navy units rescued 192 illegal migrants off the kingdom’s Mediterranean and Atlantic shores, the official news agency MAP reported Tuesday.

Citing a military source, MAP said most of the migrants rescued in the operation overnight on Monday are from sub-Saharan Africa, including women and children.

They were traveling in small flimsy boats and jet skis. Some even ventured to swim, said the report.

They received first aid onboard before being transported to the nearest ports of the North African country, it said.

Morocco has become a hub for African migrants who seek to reach Europe for a better life. — NNN-XINHUA
