COLOMBO, Apr 23 (NNN-PSM) – Tourist arrivals in the Maldives this year passed the 500,000 mark, as of Apr 20, its Ministry of Tourism said, yesterday.
The ministry said that, over 531,000 tourists arrived between Jan 1 and Apr 20, in the archipelagic country.
Among them, 131,764 visitors were recorded in Jan, 149,008 in Feb, and 150,739 in March.
Tourist arrivals so far this year, are 46.4 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
Official data also showed that, the average length of stay of visitors in the Maldives was eight days, with the daily average of arrivals standing at 4,827.– NNN-PSM
