ISLAMABAD, Apr 23 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani President, Arif Alvi, yesterday administered the oath to four new members of the cabinet of newly-elected Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif.
Three federal ministers and one state minister took the oath of office, during a ceremony held at the President House, according to the president’s official Twitter account.
The portfolios of the newly-inducted members of the cabinet are likely to be released later, said the government officials.
Earlier on Tuesday, 31 federal ministers, three ministers of state and three advisers to the prime minister were sworn in, by the Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate, Sadiq Sanjrani.
According to the portfolios of cabinet members, issued by the Cabinet Division of the Pakistani government on Tuesday, Ahsan Iqbal has been appointed as Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Khawaja Muhammad Asif as Federal Minister for Defence, and Miftah Ismail as Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue.
Pakistan’s new cabinet, consisting of members of allied political parties, was formed after the previous cabinet got dissolved, after a no-confidence motion ousted former Prime Minister, Imran Khan.– NNN-APP
