Myanmar’s Sea Trade Reaches Over 11 Billion USD From Oct To Mid-March

YANGON, Myanmar, March 30 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar’s trade with foreign countries through sea route, reached over 11.05 billion U.S. dollars, as of March 15, in the current fiscal year 2018-2019, starting in Oct last year, according to Myanmar’s Commerce Ministry, Saturday.

During this period, Myanmar’s maritime export hit over 4.2 billion U.S. dollars, while its import reached 6.85 billion U.S. dollars.

The figure decreased by about 100 million U.S. dollars, compared to the same period of the last FY 2017-2018, which showed over 11.15 billion U.S. dollars.

During the period, the country’s total foreign trade registered over 15.51 billion U.S. dollars, with 4.46 billion U.S. dollars’ border trade, according to the ministry’s figures.

The country mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, fisheries, minerals and forest products, while imports capital goods, intermediate goods, consumer goods and products using Cutting, Making and Packing (CMP) system.– NNN-MNA
