Brunei Reports 217 New COVID-19 Cases

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Apr 14 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei reported 217 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total tally to 139,278.

Brunei has recorded less than 1,000 daily new cases for 21 straight days, since Mar 24, after the number of daily infections during the current third wave reached its peak on Mar 3, at 4,885 cases, according to official data.

As of Apr 12, 62.4 percent of Brunei’s 420,000 population had received three doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

The COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer, BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and China’s Sinopharm are those administered in the country.

Currently, a total of 2,399 patients are being treated and monitored in Brunei, and 136,663 recoveries have been reported from the pandemic.

Brunei’s Prime Minister’s Office announced yesterday that, the country’s temporary suspension of cross-border activities will be extended for 15 more days from Apr 16 to 30.
