Blast Inside Chemical Factory In India’s Western State Kills Six

NEW DELHI, Apr 11 (NNN-PTI) – Six workers were killed today, in a blast inside a chemical factory, in the western Indian state of Gujrat, police said.

The blast took place at the unit in Dahej industrial area of Bharuch district, about 255 km south of Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat.

According to police officials, the blast subsequently triggered a blaze in the factory.

“There was a blast at a factory and six people working there were killed,” Leena Patil, a senior police official in Bharuch told media. “The six victims were working near a reactor, which suddenly blew off during solvent distillation process.”

Following the blast, police and firefighting teams rushed to the spot to contain the blaze and carry out rescue operations.– NNN-PTI
