TUNIS, April 10 (NNN-Xinhua) — Tunisia has foiled four illegal immigration attempts by 115 immigrants to cross the Mediterranean to the Italian coast, private radio station Shems FM reported.
“Units of the Tunisian Maritime Guard have arrested on Friday night a total of 115 illegal immigrants of different African nationalities off the town of Jbeniana in the southeastern province of Sfax, in four illegal immigration attempts,” Shems FM quoted National Naval Guard spokesman Ali Al-Ayari as saying.
The illegal immigrants included 49 women, 11 children and a 15-day-old infant.
