Uzbekistan, India Hold Joint Military Drill

TASHKENT, Apr 1 (NNN-PTI) – Armed forces of Uzbekistan and India held a joint military drill “Friendship-2022,” at the Yangiaryk combined training ground, in the north-western Khorezm region, the Uzbek Defence Ministry press service said yesterday.

During the joint tactical drill “the military personnel of the two countries liquidated a breakthrough of militants, of a conditional terrorist group across the border in the desert area,” the ministry said.

The Uzbek defence ministry used combat helicopters at the third stage of the exercises, it added.

This is the third joint tactical drill that the two countries have held since 2019.– NNN-PTI
