LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan, Mar 27 (NNN-ANA) – Afghanistan’s security forces, seized a weapons cache in Gereshk district of the southern Helmand province, and arrested three persons, the state-run news agency Bakhtar reported, yesterday.
The security personnel seized six assault rifles and other weapons, on Friday, in the operation, in which they also arrested three people, over illegal possession of firearms, according to the news report.
Officials said, the Taliban-led caretaker government has ordered the security forces to confiscate weapons from outside the security organs.
It is reported that, in clean-up operations and house-to-house searches, the security forces seized a large number of weapons from individuals in the capital, Kabul, couple of weeks ago.– NNN-ANA
