NEW DELHI, Mar 15 (NNN-PTI) – Two councillors have been killed, in two separate incidents, in India’s eastern state of West Bengal, police said yesterday.
Both killings took place on Sunday evening.
A Congress councillor was killed in Purulia district, while a Trinamool Congress councillor was killed in the North 24 Parganas district.
Police have registered both cases and ordered investigations.
The incidents triggered protests by locals, who hit the streets and blocked traffic.– NNN-PTI
