Singapore Reports 17,051 New COVID-19 Cases

SINGAPORE, Mar 10 (NNN-CNA) – Singapore reported 17,051 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total tally to 885,593.

Of the new cases, 2,356 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, and 14,695 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to the statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 2,295 were local transmissions and 61 were imported cases.

Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 14,563 local transmissions and 132 imported cases.

A total of 1,513 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 50 cases in intensive care units.

Eleven deaths were reported from COVID-19 during the day, bringing the death toll to 1,110, the ministry said.– NNN-CNA
