Morocco Seizes 1.4 Tonnes Of Cannabis, Arrests Two Suspects

RABAT, Mar 6 (NNN-MAP) – The Moroccan police, yesterday seized 1.4 tonnes of cannabis, and arrested two suspects, for alleged links to an international drug trafficking network, official news agency reported.

The operation was carried out in Bouarg locality near the northern city of Nador, it said, adding that, an investigation is being carried out, to determine the trafficking routes of the seized drug.

Despite efforts to crack down on cannabis, during the past decade, Morocco remains one of the world’s largest producers of the narcotic plant, according to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.– NNN-MAP
