KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Mar 1 (NNN-ANA) – Two children lost their lives and two others sustained injuries, as an explosive device went off in Khanabad district, of the northern Kunduz province on Sunday, district police officer, Qari Mohammad Hashim said yesterday.
Those killed in the blast were an eight-year-old and a 12-year-old, the officer said, adding that, the injured children were in critical condition.
Afghanistan is reportedly among the most mine-contaminated countries, and unexploded devices left over from the past wars often claim lives or maim people, including children.– NNN-ANA
