13 Killed, Four Missing As Motorboat Capsizes In Central Vietnam

HANOI, Feb 27 (NNN-VNA) – At least 13 people died and four others were missing yesterday, after a passenger boat sank offshore, in Vietnam’s central Quang Nam province.

There were 39 people onboard, including 36 tourists and three cruise members, Vietnam’s local authorities were reported as saying.

The boat was transporting tourists from Cham Islands, a tourism hotspot in Quang Nam province, to the shore, when the accident happened, amid unfavourable weather conditions, yesterday afternoon.

As of 5:30 p.m. local time (1030 GMT), rescue forces found 35 people, including 13 deaths. Search for the missing is underway, according to the report.– NNN-VNA
