Singapore’s Manufacturing Output Growth Drops To Two Percent In Jan

SINGAPORE, Feb 25 (NNN-CNA) – The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) said today that, the country’s manufacturing output increased two percent year-on-year, in Jan, 2022, compared to a revised 16.7-percent increase last Dec.

Excluding biomedical manufacturing, the output grew 4.7 percent year-on-year in Jan, compared to a 5.9-percent growth in the previous month.

On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, Singapore’s manufacturing output decreased 10.7 percent in Jan. Excluding biomedical manufacturing output fell 0.2 percent.

As for performance of different clusters, the electronics cluster’s output rose 0.1 percent year-on-year in Jan this year. The chemicals cluster’s output declined 2.3 percent year-on-year in Jan. Precision engineering cluster’s output, grew 11.6 percent year-on-year, in Jan.

The transport engineering cluster’s output increased 16.2 percent year-on-year in Jan. The general manufacturing cluster’s output rose 17.4 percent year-on-year, last month. The biomedical manufacturing cluster saw its output declined 10.6 percent year-on-year, in Jan, compared to a revised 90.5-percent growth last Dec.– NNN-CNA
