| A curfew on bars and restaurants is due to be lifted |
LUXEMBOURG, Feb 17 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Measures set up in Luxembourg during the last two years to control the spread of the coronavirus are set to be relaxed extensively following a decision by the country’s legislature.
Unvaccinated people will be once again allowed at bars and restaurants, hotels, and leisure and sports facilities, as long as they provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test.
In addition, the 11 pm curfew for bars and restaurants is abolished, while discotheques and clubs are allowed to reopen.
There are no longer contact restrictions for private meetings and contact persons will no longer have to quarantine.
The law, which was approved by a 31-28 vote, comes into force late on Friday.
The number of new coronavirus infections in Luxembourg has recently fallen. Between Jan 31 and Feb 6, the seven-day incidence per 100,000 residents was 1,733, according to the Health Ministry. The week before, the figure was at 2,350. — NNN-AGENCIES
