MUMBAI, Feb 17 (NNN-PTI) – Employees in India may see an average hike of 9-9.9 percent in salaries, the highest since 2016, according to two separate studies, released by talent assessment firms yesterday.
Meanwhile, the attrition figure, measuring the rate at which employees leave a company, hit a two-decade high in 2021, at an estimated 21 percent, compared to 12.8 percent in 2020, said consulting firm, Aon, in its India Salary Increase Survey of around 1,500 companies.
Another talent assessment company, Mercer, conducted a survey of 988 companies with around 5,700 job functions, said yesterday that, as business landscapes change with more technology penetration, demand for niche skills is at an all-time high.
Java, JavaScript and SQL developers, will be coveted roles in 2022, and DevOps has become one of prominent roles to hire across industries, because of increased emphasis on network security and cloud adoption, it said.
In contrast, sectors like metal and mining, restaurant and cement are set to give lower pay hikes, the survey added.– NNN-PTI
