KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (NNN-XINHUA) – Chinese-made products are set to be featured prominently, in the upcoming National Entrepreneur Day 2022 (HUN 2022) in Malaysia, the main participating business group said yesterday.
Some 100 products from China will be featured at the event, from Mar 24-28, to raise awareness and boost entrepreneurship, President of the Malaysia Promas International Business Society, Chong Chong Tik said, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding, with President of the Malaysian Small Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce, Abu Hasan Mohd Nor.
“The products that will be on display are food, beverages, traditional herbs and household items,” he told reporters at a press conference, adding that, the trade event will help uplift the economy, which has taken a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For his part, Abu Hasan said, the trade show would also help small businesses in looking for opportunities to export their products and tap into wider regional markets.
Despite the uncertain situation, “the HUN 2022 platform will help entrepreneurs obtain all the information and needs, to move forward, creating wider opportunities for growth,” he said.
“Currently, 80 to 90 percent of businesses in Malaysia are under SMEs and only 20 percent of our corporate entrepreneurs manage to export their product overseas,” he added.
The event will see some 2,000 booths being set up, at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, with an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 visitors expected to attend daily, according to the organiser.– NNN-XINHUA
