Turkish President Erdogan Tests Negative For COVID-19

ANKARA, Feb 10 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, tested negative for COVID-19, after being infected with the virus last week, it was reported yesterday.

“President Erdogan’s PCR tests that we have done over the past two days, have come back negative,” his doctor, Serkan Topaloglu, was quoted as saying by the agency.

“I think that our president will return to his routine programme very soon, even tomorrow,” Topaloglu said.

The Turkish president and the first lady, Emine Erdogan, were under isolation since last Saturday, after they had tested positive for the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

In June 2021, Erdogan said, he had received his third vaccine dose.

Turkey on Wednesday reported 108,563 new COVID-19 cases, and 266 more people have died, according to its health ministry.– NNN-ANADOLU
